Q3D Quality3Ds Think It, Make It!
Reverse Engineering

Dishwasher basket wheel replacements from worn original parts.

A practical replacement part project: measure the old parts, recreate the wheel geometry in CAD, print suitable replacements, and check them on the basket.

The problem

Small appliance parts are often hard to source once the exact model is old, discontinued, or not worth ordering internationally.

In this case the basket wheels had worn and broken. Quality3Ds used the existing parts as the reference, recreated the key geometry in CAD, and produced printed replacements for the dishwasher basket.

Project scope

Reverse engineering, CAD modelling, small functional print set, and installed fit check on the original basket.

Best suited to suitable plastic repair parts where heat, chemical, and load requirements are reasonable.

From broken part to installed replacement

The important proof is not just a CAD render. The replacement wheels were produced and checked on the actual dishwasher basket.

CAD wheel model Replacement wheel geometry recreated so the part could be printed repeatably.
3D printed dishwasher basket wheel replacements installed on a rack.
Installed replacements Printed parts fitted back onto the dishwasher basket for practical use.

Where this helps

Unavailable parts

Good for parts that are obsolete, expensive to ship, or only needed in small numbers.

Measured from the original

The old part can guide fit, clearances, and functional details when no drawing exists.

Local repair support

A local print can often keep useful equipment working without waiting for overseas parts.
