Custom cooktop duct adapter for a client fit-up problem.
The supplied bracket and ducting did not suit the installation, so a custom adapter was modelled and printed to bridge the required rectangular and round profiles.
The problem
A client needed a duct transition that was not available off the shelf for their cooktop setup. The job needed practical geometry, not decorative modelling.
Quality3Ds created a CAD model around the required fit and produced a large printed adapter so the client had a part made for the actual space rather than forcing the installation to suit a generic bracket.
Project scope
Custom CAD, rectangular-to-round duct geometry, print-orientation planning, and a large-format functional FDM print.
Design and printed result
This project shows the value of local CAD support: the printed part is based on the customer problem, not a standard catalogue shape.
Why it matters
Made for the installation
CAD can solve awkward fit-up problems where standard parts do not match the real geometry.
Fast local turnaround
Local design and printing keeps iteration practical when a job needs a part quickly.
Useful beyond one-offs
Once modelled, similar adapters can be adjusted, reprinted, or refined for later installs.
